Resin Cast T-Jet Slot Car Bodies

Picture
Making molds and resin casting is a lot of fun but not necessarily easy.  Modelling the master from which to make the mold can be laborious and making a two-part mold that will ultimately produce a quality, bubble free castings can also be challenging.

Even after the basic shell of the car is cast in the desired color, there are usually other components that need to be made such as bumpers, windshield, driver, etc.   All these parts need to be pre-fitted to the body prior to polishing, adding decals and hand painting the details that lead up to a finished model.  Not including the time it takes to make the master, the mold or the molds for the model's components, several hours of labor are involved in completing just one car.  Here are some pictures of cars I have resin cast and finished.

Scenic Layout
I had a lot of fun building this track during the winter of 2013.  It sits on a 2' x 4' wooden platform, and is fully landscaped with mountains, trees, and buildings.  The painted
grey track is sunk into the landscape to give a more realistic affect.  I also added a
skyline to the background to give more depth to the landscape.

Track Scenery

While some hobbyists are enthusiastic about competitive racing, I'm more of the modeller.  For me, adding scenery to a layout, not only adds realism, but interest and imagination as well.  Here are some examples of scenery items I've made for the hobby.
