Safety Traffic Cones Injection Molded in 1:64 Scale

I've had a long time desire to build an injection mold die to produce products for the hobby.  When producing a high quality part in mass quantities, resin casting is a Ford Falcon where as injection molding is the Millennium Falcon.  However, the exact opposite is true when it comes to tooling costs and time to produce the dies or molds.  RTV Silicone molds can be made in a day or two, where as a complex injection mold die assembly can take months and cost tens of thousands of dollars depending on the product being produced.  Still wanting to give it a try, I came up with a mold idea I could machine myself that wouldn't be too expensive to produce.  Let's face it, HO (1/87) scale stuff is too small for T-Jets and looks even smaller for AFX slot cars.  These traffic cones will look more realistic on your slot car layout, 1/64 scale die cast diorama, or "S" scale train set.

Dr. Oogan's Ranchero T-Jet

After an obscenely long time in the making, I finally completed a version of a T-Jet Ranchero I'm content with.  I went through at least six mold attempts, before mastering this final rendering.  This model has been an "on again, off again" project for years... literally.  I'm actually too embarrassed to disclose how many years ago I made my first prototype of this model.  I know some of my friends who have needled me about getting this one finished are laughing reading this, but what can I say... the price of perfection is prohibitive.

I modeled this body based on the 1968-69 years which shared the Torino front.  Aurora made the Torino for this year, but no Ranchero... I guess it was in my destiny to custom build one for the hobby.

The body fits the T-Jet chassis in the long wheel base position and sits low hiding nearly all of the chassis.  The windshield for this model is vacuum formed.  This is the only one I've built so far, and overall I'm pretty happy with the results.  I'm not sure how many I will be able to make, but I will post them on my offer pages as they become  available.
